The Lion at Buckden is a coaching inn providing a relaxing bar area, traditional dining and excellent accommodation.
It is not only a great place to have a relaxing drink or a home cooked meal, but also a convenient and comfortable place to stay whether you are just passing through or taking some time to explore the surrounding area.
Ideally located in the heart of Cambridgeshire, Buckden is a small village just off the A1 giving you excellent access to London and The North not to mention all the local places of interest including the historic Buckden Towers (formerly Buckden Palace), once the impressive location of the imprisonment of Henry VIII’s first wife – Catherine of Aragon.
Dating back to 1492, The Lion has been known as ‘The Lamb and Flag’, ‘The Lion and Lamb’ and retains much of its original character including an almost unique ceiling feature (pictured above), open fires, and an excellent atmosphere.
